- S.T.E.P. - STUDENT TRAINING & ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Grades 7 & 8
A great opportunity for middle school students to learn what it's like to apprentice with our trained staff in the youngest division of our after school day care program. Fridays are reserved for our movie club and flag football programs. Transportation from local schools is available and included in the fee. - TEEN COUNCIL
Grades 9-12
Time: Thursdays, 6:15-7:15 PM
This prestigious teen program is available to any teen in 9th through 12th grade that feels a commitment to leadership skills and community service and development. The council's responsibilities include: coordination of Teen Lounge events, organization of community projects, committee work and other special programs such as Toys for Tots, Project HOPE, canned food drives, UJA Phone-A-Thon, intergenerational activities, holiday dinners and an experiential hands-on leadership weekend.
- PEER
Protection through Education, Esteem and Relationships

PEER is an abuse and violence prevention program in which teens will receive specialized training as well as an adult mentor selected from the Y's professional staff. Simultaneously, our Teen leaders will serve as "Big Brothers and Big Sisters" for children enrolled in after school programs. You will learn to lead activities designed to improve children's abilities to enjoy positive friendships and to resolve conflicts successfully. This program is made possible by a grant from UJA-Federation of New York

Select High School students are accepted to a program of learning and service. Participants are hired to work in programs serving children with special needs. They also take classes for college credit at Long Island University - C.W. Post
- "GO Y GIRL GO"

Are you interested in developing your athletic and teamwork skills? Join us at the Samuel Field Y for a program like no other! Every Tuesday night, we have a basketball program for girls to hang out and play ball together. A healthy dinner is cooked and served each week, along with lessons on how to grow and live a healthy lifestyle.
