Samuel Field Y and Central Queens Y to Merge Agencies

We have very exciting news: The boards of the Samuel Field Y in Little Neck and the Central Queens Y in Forest Hills have approved the merger of the two agencies, a process that will unfold over the coming months. As you may know, over the past seven years the Samuel Field Y and the Central Queens Y have been jointly managed and have worked closely together to deliver programs and services to our communities. The result: both agencies are stronger and our programs are too.

Throughout these past several years, it has grown increasingly clear that a formal merger of the agencies – with our closely aligned missions – can enable us to pool our talents and resources. With greater scale, the merged agency can advocate for community needs and harness philanthropic resources more effectively and thus, have a greater impact on the communities we serve.

The greatest strength at both the Samuel Field Y and Central Queens Y is our enormously talented staff. It should therefore come as no surprise that the actual planning for the merger will involve staff on many levels.

Please be assured that the individuals and families we serve should not notice any change in the quality of the programs and services that we offer now. In fact, a merger should enable us to provide more programs and services over time, always responding to community needs.

We are excited about the potential to strengthen our work in service to our communities. For more information on the merger process, please check our websites or  for answers to frequently asked questions and for updates.
