Samuel Field created and led the
very successful Adams Real Estate Corporation and was a major philanthropist
within the New York Jewish community. His wife Helen was an accomplished
singer. They were involved with the Hebrew National Orphan Home in Tuckahoe and
subsequently, UJA - Federation of New York, and numerous other worthy causes. In
1964, Samuel Field, provided the funding to build the Samuel and Helen Field
Building in Little Neck, New York. Samuel and Helen Field were the parents of
two daughters, Claire Perlman and Jean Ruth. Claire acknowledges that her
father, Samuel Field, firmly believed in the importance of actively
contributing to the Jewish community and encouraged his family, including his
daughters and their families, to continue the Field family tradition of
philanthropy. Samuel and Helen Field have passed on but their legacy continues.
They spent their lives giving to others and their commitment and generosity
have enhanced the lives of countless individuals. Claire and her children
maintain an active interest in, and vital support of the Y, and its programs.
