The Children's Services Department provides a full range of programs, Jewish cultural experiences, trips, groups and special events or children currently in Kindergarten through 7th grade and their families. Through the use of activity-oriented programs, children grow and develop as positive, capable individuals while learning important interpersonal skills, social responsibilities and values in a supportive group environment.
Our staff consists of professional and para-professional group leaders who are carefully selected for their commitment, skills and ability to relate tochildren with a caring, positive attitude.
Our After School Day Care programs are designed to offer a safe, supervised, recreational program during after school hours for children of working parents. Daily snacks are provided,as well as structured activities, games, and sports. A licensed teacher alsoprovides homework assistance. The After School Day Care programs will be openon all half days of school.
The After School Day Care programs begin the first school day in September, continuing through the last day of the New York City public school schedule.
Programs are licensed by the New York City Department ofHealth and is approved for vouchers by the Agency for Child Development and the Human Resources Administration.

The Beacon Programs are school-based Community Centers, funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. The Samuel Field Y Beacon programs operate during after school hours, summer vacation and on weekends and holidays, providing a wide range of services and activities for children and their families. Beacon Programs include Basketball, Tae Kwon Do, Individual and Family Counseling, Vocational and School to Work programs, Dance, Drama, Chess, Computer, Homework Club, Academic Tutorials, Youth Councils, Tennis, Video Production and Adult Programs such as Computers, Stress Reduction, Parent Support Groups, as part of a comprehensive menu ofactivities for all ages and interests.

The Samuel Field Y offers after school programs at several schools in Districts 25 and 26. Programs are offered free of charge and are limited in enrollment.
All programs provide academic enhancement, socialization, recreation, and learning opportunities as well as exposure to the arts, technology, and diverse activities.
These programs are funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development through the Out of School Time Initiative.
The Program at PS/IS 266Q receives additional funding from the State Office for Children and Family Services through the Advantage After School Program Initiative.
