READING, WRITING AND SCIENCE WORKSHOP FOR PRE-KINDERGARTENERS
Date: July 11, 2012
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The Samuel Field Y's Early Childhood Programs will be offering a Reading, Writing and Science workshop this summer
on Mondays and Wednesdays starting on Monday, July 9, lasting through Wednesday, August 1. This course will
help enhance language, reading, writing, and science skills with literature, and will help prepare your child for their upcoming
Kindergarten experiences.

The Reading/Writing class has been developed for emergent readers and writers. Through a variety of literature, games,
and authentic writing experiences, children will develop their vocabulary, language, phonemic awareness, letter and word
recognition, visual discrimination and memory, which are prerequisites for formal reading and writing.

The Science class has been developed for children to observe objects and events, and to explore cause and effect. By
including science materials such as magnets and magnifying glasses, children will make comparisons, use measurements,
and develop critical thinking skills.

This program will give children a chance to experience the thrill of scientific discovery, as well as the joy of increasing
mastery of language, literacy, and the written word.

Please remember to send lunch, we are a peanut-free school so NO peanut products.

Cost: $200 for 8 sessions.

Space is limited, so contact Iris Shaw at (718) 225-6750 extension 246 today to register your child.
