ReelAbilities Film Festival is coming to CQY

ReelAbilities: NY Disabilities Film Festival is the largest festival in the country dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different disabilities.This year the festival will make a two-day stop at the Central Queens Y, on February 12 and 13, and will feature two films and a discussion. Join us on Sunday, 2/12 at Noon and on Monday, 2/13 at 1:00 PM and then at 7:00 PM.

Music Together with Mommy, Music, & Me, inc.

The Early Childhood Department of the Samuel Field Y is now offering Music Together classes! Music Together is an inspiring, joyful approach to music making with your child. Infants, toddlers, preschoolers and the grown-ups, who love them, sing, dance, and play rhythm instruments in a pressure-free, spontaneous, non performance oriented environment.

Respite Art Fest 2012!

The Samuel Field Y Respite Program is thrilled to present its 2^nd annual creative “Artfest”! Check out some great pieces in the SFY Main Lobby now through Mid-February! Participants in our adult day care Family Respite Program have been learning about various artists and their individual artistic techniques.  Piet Mondrian, Georges Seurat’s pointillism, landscapes, city skylines, silhouettes, and watercolors on canvas have been the focus of our creative art workshops.

We are so proud of our Respite seniors for their enthusiasm, participation and their fabulous art projects!

Come Play in Our Indoor Playground

Bring your toddler to the Samuel Field Y's Indoor Playground, where they can play in our gym which is set up with gym mats, slides, and a balance beam. The gym also has obstacle courses comprised of tunnels, a climber, hoops, bridges, and a vault. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in games and activities that include musical instruments, parachutes, balloons and bubbles. For children younger than 5 years old.
