We are excited to announce that our annual Chanukah Festival will take place on Sunday, December 8, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Samuel Field Y. This year we'll be hosting a Freedom Festival, where we'll celebrate lights, latkes, and the 50 year anniversary of the March on Washington. The celebration will include Gym Games, Arts & Crafts, sing-a-longs, and special performances by our Early Childhood students, after school programs, and even some of our seniors. We will also be hosting a Summer Camp and Early Childhood Open House with Give-a-Ways. Gym participants must wear sneakers. Donuts, drinks and latkes will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing you all there!
After nearly a half-century working at the Samuel Field Y, including the last two decades as our CEO and Executive Vice President, Dr. Steve Goodman has retired. Liam La Guerre of the Queens Courier has written a great piece on his retirement, including information on Goodman's replacement, Jeri Mendehlson, former Associate Executive Director, and all of the wonderful things that Dr. Goodman accomplished with the Y.
Thank you Dr. Goodman for your hard-work, your guidance, and of course, your leadership. All the best.
The Samuel Field Y is pleased to introduce “Heart To Heart,” a program for caregivers and their spouse or significant other who is experiencing memory loss. This 8 week program, starting December 6th, will provide you the opportunity to socialize and connect with other couples like you. Each week will feature a variety of activities aimed at providing a meaningful experience for both of you.
