Managing Transitions Through Life Symposium

With the help of the Samuel Field Y and Central Queens Y Business Council, we'll be hosting a Live Well: Live With Purpose Managing Transitions Through Life Symposium on Thursday, November 3, at Hillcrest Jewish Center, with doors opening at 6:15 PM. Join us for an evening with special guest speakers, information booths, a panel discussion, and interactive demonstrations covering topics like healthy aging, personal fitness, planning for change, mental health, when it's time to make a move, protecting assets, "seniorizing" the home and many more resources for our senior community and their caretakers. Elected officials answer questions about ThriveNYC program at SFY

Did you know that one in five adults living in New York City suffers from a diagnosed mental health disorder? Thanks to the help of Barry Grodenchik, the Samuel Field Y hosted a community forum, headlined by NYC Deputy Mayor Richard Buery (center) and NYC Deputy Commissioner for Mental Health Gary Belkin to discuss ongoing efforts to improve our city's mental health. Over 300 Volunteers Join KaBOOM! ABC and Disney to Build a Playground at Bay Terrace Center

More than 4,100 kids now have a new opportunity to get the balanced and active play they need so they can thrive. On Friday, September 23, the Bay Terrace Center of the Samuel Field Y built a kid-designed play space in less than eight hours with the help of more than 300 people from the Samuel Field Y, Disney, community members and organizers from KaBOOM! SFY Youth Programs Nominated for "Best of the Boro"

It's with great pride that we announce that several of the Samuel Field Y's youth programs, including Summer Camp, Pre School, and Nursery School have been nominated for Best of the Boro! We're so appreciative to have been nominated, but now we need your help to show Queens that we truly have the best programs! SFY To Offer NEW Continuing Education for Social Workers

Effective January 2015, all social workers that practice in New York State are required to earn 36 units of Continuing Education in order to renew their licenses. We began offering Continuing Education courses for Social Workers throughout 2015, and are now rolling out courses for FALL 2016! ISY - Creating Opportunities for Tomorrow's Leaders

Calling all High School Juniors and Seniors: The Samuel Field Y's ISY Program offers valuable experience through volunteering, job trainings, and internships in our various After School Programs. On top of developing professional skills, job and life skills are taught at weekly meetings, along with college prep and guest speakers. Assistance with college applications is provided, along with college tours and college nights, and we also provide free tutoring in all major subjects. Our goal is to prepare high school seniors for future careers and college, and we want YOU to be a part of it!
