We'll be collecting donated coats from September 20-30 as part of UJA's 10 Days of Awesome campaign, which gives New Yorkers an opportunity to do good in our community by volunteering, to give warm winter coats to New Yorkers in need, and to share a vision for the year ahead. For more information on the Coat Drive please contact Sam Schachter, and to find out how YOU can get involved in our community visit ujafedny.org/10-days-of-awesome or check out our volunteer opportunities.
With the help of ESPN, Disney, KaBOOM! and countless incredibly people from our local community, we have a brand new playground! On September 14th, more than 200 people came together to build said playground, and it was a wild success. We can't wait to share the playground with our students and community, and will be unveiling it in the near future. You can watch video of our special day on Eyewitness News, check out this feature from the Queens Courier, and take a look at some photos in our album. Thanks to everyone who was involved in this special process.
Calling all High School Juniors: The Samuel Field Y's ISY Program offers valuable experience through volunteering, job trainings, and internships in our various After School Programs. On top of developing professional skills, job and life skills are taught at weekly meetings, along with college prep and guest speakers. Assistance with college applications is provided, along with college tours and college nights, and we also provide free tutoring in all major subjects. Our goal is to prepare high school seniors for future careers and college, and we want YOU to be a part of it! For More Information contact Elizabeth McArdle at [email protected] or 718.225.6750 x202
